Those of you who are teaching German might find Sean Sullivan’s Zeit für Deutsch website very useful. It features lessons plans together with resources & activities for teaching an initial year of the language to year 3 primary students.
The lessons follow the topics featured in the excellent German language teaching resources produced by Goethe Institut which can be downloaded from this link and is another site that is well worth visiting.

Google‘s translation service is very useful in helping users get a quick sense of what text written in another language means. The service currently supports 57 languages (including Welsh). Users of the Google toolbar can also translate websites on the fly and the service is also integrated with Google Documents. The Digital Dialects website features free online interactive activities and resources for teaching sixty different languages. (Teachers should be aware of the Goggle Ads on the site when using the resources with students)

Northwood Primary School has a great collection of interactive Spanish resources on their site. The activities feature audio to help with pronunciation and cover areas such as the parts of the body, the weather and food and drink.

Secondary teacher Gaelle Leroux‘s blog features lesson plans and resources that she’s using to teach French to pupils at local primary schools. The zip folders contain sound files to help non specialists model the words. They also include flash cards, mini cards and sometimes links and games in flash.
